Meet Dashel

The inspiration behind “A Dash of Love” NICU Care Baskets. Dash was born at home on October 30th, 2023 with an undiagnosed CHD: Coarctation of the Aorta. On day 5 of life, mother’s instinct rushed him to the emergency room and our lives forever changed. We spent the next month in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit where Dash officially became part of the Heart Warrior Family. On February 15th, Dash had his second open-heart surgery to finish what was missed in the first repair attempt. Although there is no certainty our Heart journey is over, we’re thankful for our thriving baby boy. A son, a brother, a cousin, a grandson, a great grandson, a nephew, a great nephew and a great GREAT nephew.

Our Mission

That every single mother, NICU or not, is taken care of with the same love, attention, care, and honor that her baby is. That her body is honored for the experience it’s healing from. For NICU moms, that her heart is honored for the newborn experience it’s mourning it may never have. &mamatoo care baskets: because while baby is being cared for, we want to care for mom, too.     Retreat to the Heart - donations cover registration scholarships for our wellness retreats for families who have endured medical trauma with a child.

    Proceeds of all of our sales go directly to helping NICU moms in need. Our goal is care, not high prices and profit margins. We know it takes a village and we’d like to be part of every NICU family’s.
